Canadian Visa for UK citizens

UK citizens can now travel to Canada using eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) that enables travellers to cross the Canadian border.

ETA to Canada is valid for 5 years from the issuing date, or until your passport expires. Whichever comes first. It is a multiple entry visa, which means that you can visit Canada numerous times within the validity period.
The processing time can take up to 72 hours, though usually, eTA to Canada is granted within a couple of minutes.
The cost of this electronic visa permit is only 49 Euro.
Requirements and the required documents for UK citizens
There are only a few requirements that have to be met for UK citizens before applying.
Please make sure that you have:
- a valid passport (passport validity has to exceed at least 6 months ahead of the planned trip)
- an active e-mail address (onto which eTA and its’ confirmation number is sent)
- a clean criminal record (you can still apply with some non-serious offences, e.g., a speeding ticket does not count)
How to apply?
The application process consists of only three effortless steps:
- Apply Online: fill in an online application form, provide your data, passport details, the purpose of your travel, and your e-mail address.
- Register an online payment: pay the handling charges using a credit or debit card. Or any other method of payment available.
- Check your e-mail: once your payment is registered, you will receive an e-mail with the confirmation number. You can check the status of your eTA processing with this number. Within the next 72 hours you will receive your eTA in your e-mail box as well.
Please note that the processing time may be longer when your situation is unclear. E.g., when your criminal record is not clean, and you have to send in some additional documents.
Why should you travel to Canada?
The best time to visit the country is from July to September since you will be able to enjoy the beautiful Canadian natural landscapes.
