Canadian Visa for Lithuanian citizens

Getting a visa to Canada for all Lithuanian citizens is very easy nowadays. Since Canada decided to take part in the Visa Waiver Program, it is not necessary to go to the embassy to get a regular visa. Instead, you can apply online for eTA Canada.

This Electronic Travel Authorization enables citizens of the chosen countries to enter the Canadian territory when they plan to visit Canada for business or tourist reasons.

Requirements for Lithuanian citizens

All citizens of Lithuania can apply for eTA Canada. To do that you will only need an Internet connection and within 72 hours maximum, your electronic visa will be at your e-mail address.

But first, it is important to meet a few requirements. Two of them are the most important.

First, before you plan your trip, make sure that you are not listed for any criminal records or serious abusements.

If you are, you will not be able to enter Canada. However, some non-serious offenses don’t count. If you have a speeding ticket or the statute of limitations of the sentence has expired, you can still apply. You may be asked to send in some additional documents to make the situation clear.

Another important thing is to have a passport, which is valid for at least 6 months ahead of the trip.

These documents are connected with each other and do not exist separately – that is why when you lose your passport, or the validity of your document expires, you will have to make another eTA application.

When you land in Canada, you just need to show the border officer your passport – there is no need to print eTA out.

How to apply for eTA Canada?

To make your application complete, you will need to visit our website and find the button “apply”. Now, you only need to fill in a simple online form. You will be asked to fill the blank fields with some basic personal information.

Also, you will need to put your passport details – and it is very important that your passport should be biometrical, which means that it has to have an electronic chip. This allows the border officer to read eTA connected to your passport.

After you fill your personal information as well as the details of your travel (whether it’s a tourist or a buisness trip), you will be asked to choose your payment method. We accept a credit or debit card, as well as other forms of payment (like PayPal for instance).

ETA to Canada costs 49 Euro and this is the price for every resident of the eligible countries.

With eTA you can enter the Canadian territory multiple times during the 5 years of eTA validity. Remember that your maximum stay cannot be longer than 6 months per stay.

You will receive your eTA directly to your e-mail address. Normally, it takes up to 72 hours when your eTA will be granted – however in many cases this time is much shorter. Of course, right after your application, you will receive an email with the confirmation and the number of your visa – you can use it to check the status of your eTA.
