Can I get a Canada visa without travel history?

There is no need to have a travel history to get a visa to Canada. However, any travel history recorded could be helpful in that process.

Do I need a new eTA every time I travel to Canada?

Once you get your eTA issued, it is valid for 5 years from the issuing date or until your passport expires. ETA to Canada is a multiple entry visa, which means you can travel to Canada as many times within the 5 years of issuing the document, as you want. Although, remember that one stay cannot be longer than 6 months.

What happens if I arrive in Canada without an eTA?

To enter Canada you need a valid passport with an eTA assigned to it. There is no need to print out your eTA permit. However, it is necessary to have your passport with eTA linked to it, upon landing in Canada. There is no possibility of getting an eTA on arrival. You would not be able to enter Canada without eTA while traveling by plane.

If you are traveling by land or sea, you do not need an eTA as long as you are a national of an eTA-eligible country. Another exception is being a US citizen or a holder of a US Green Card.

Can you get an eTA for Canada with a criminal record?

You can get an eTA to Canada with a criminal record, however these must be non-serious offences only. If you have committed a serious offence, you cannot get an eTA to Canada.

Though, a speeding ticket or in the case of expiring the statute of limitations, you can still obtain your eTA permit. However, in that situation, you may be asked to send in some additional documents.

Why does Canada visa get rejected?
